Málaga, Spain

Left today for the sunnier part of Europe. My journey ended in Málaga which has a beautiful old town centre and a real Mediterranean climate. The city not far from the African north cost let you feel that the Maghreb is beginning here. Also it is raining at the moment I am happy to be here and enjoy the warm temperature,  sitting outside on a bench and relaxing....

Just before leaving on a longer cycle

At this stage I didn't had an idea that I will travel again towards the land of pain... the last 10 miles where exhausting ...

I really enjoy cycling. It gives me great pleasure to cover so huge distances in relatively short time -within a day, on a cycle you can cross most smaller countries ... Have a look here.

Fighting flat tyres

Like ever cyclist I am facing 1 big challenge, running out of air ;) No, I don't mean lack of endurance, the road conditions here are very challenging for the rubber.

I had one flat tyre end of last year, Schwalbe Ultremo R, not the cheapest tyre. I liked the feel riding on these rubber part but the failed in too short time, so I had to purchase the ultimate road warriors. Like the last rubber bands it features puncture protection and should avoid downtime. I  have done 200 miles on them and are happy so far, the only thing is, that even the Continental Gator Skin, is not made for Irish road.

I hope it will not deflate so soon and have a bicycle repair spray all time with me. A set of spare tyre and inner tube I was hoping to help me last time, did not promised what it should. After a few hours cycling in cold weather the last what you like to do is standing beside the road for 1/2 h and trying to fix your wheel. I hope in the event of running flat, the spray will bring me back on the road in less than 5 minutes.

Me before getting started :)

Before one of the road races I am nearly every week participating in.
